Mission Statement

To be the leading non-profit civil rights organization creating true public safety by tackling systemic injustice to and around the justice system through advocacy, policy, education, and early intervention. Since true public safety is only guaranteed by true justice across multiple systems- from education to healthcare to the judiciary- we work to effectively enact systemic change, beginning with a second chance at justice for the directly impacted.

Description

At Second Justice, we believe lasting public safety requires systemic reform across education, healthcare, and the judiciary. Our work focuses on supporting those who have been wrongfully incarcerated or unduly criminalized, including individuals who maintain their innocence but do not meet the strict federal exoneration criteria.
