The Salvation Army is participating in a multi-agency resource center, the "Wildfire Resource Hub," in Palisades to support those impacted by the recent wildfires. This collaborative effort will bring together 20+ agencies to provide direct assistance, including financial aid, to individuals and families in need.
Volunteer Details:
- Dates: March 18th, 19th, 20th AM, 22nd
- # of Volunteers: 10-15 total
- Time: 8:30 am-5:30 pm (Shifts 8:30am-1:00pm / 12:30pm-5:30pm)
- Location: Pacific Palisades, CA 90272
Volunteer Duties:
- Assisting with distribution of supplies such as cleanup kits and air purifiers
- Support client management team
- Other duties as assigned
- Distribute drinks/ snacks (TBD)
Attire: Volunteers will receive a TSA EDS t-shirt upon arrival. Please dress in layers for both indoor and outdoor work. PPE will be available for those working near the burn area, or you may bring your own. Tents will be provided in case of rain.
Meals: Provided on-site. If you have dietary restrictions, please bring your own snacks/meals or inform the volunteer coordinator in advance.
Parking: Limited parking is available. Carpooling is encouraged, and a parking pass will be provided before your shift. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early since there will be security check points that may cause traffic.
Preference will be given to volunteers who can commit to a full day or multiple full days.
Volunteer Requirements:
- 18 Years of age or older
- Friendly and compassionate
- Able to sit or stand for extended time
- Able to lift at last 20lbs overhead
