Join our amazing team of volunteers and make a real difference in the lives of patients and their families! As a volunteer in the Surgery Waiting Room, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to:
- Welcome family, visitors, and associates with a warm and compassionate greeting, making them feel at ease from the moment they arrive.
- Answer phones courteously and efficiently, ensuring patients' locations are tracked and communicated accurately.
- Escort functionally independent family and friends to pre-op or recovery areas, providing support and comfort during their visit.
- Maintain the Waiting Room by tidying up, removing trash, straightening magazines, and turning off the television, creating a pleasant environment for everyone.
- Make coffee and keep supplies stocked, offering a little extra comfort to those waiting.
- Collaborate with staff to uphold Spectrum Health Lakeland’s mission, vision, and values, ensuring a safe and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
- Commit to continuously improving the patient experience, focusing on safety, quality of care, and excellent service.
