Georgetown Visitor Center Volunteer

Immediate openings for volunteers in Georgetown, Washington DC at the C&O Canal Georgetown Visitor Center.


 Volunteers will be working the front desk in the visitor center of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal NHP in the Georgetown neighborhood in Washington DC, in a highly visited area of the park. Volunteers will provide park orientation to visitors, answer questions, hand out brochures, work with Jr Rangers, and much more! Volunteers will also be trained in opening and closing procedures, and basic natural and cultural history of the park. Supervision will be provided by the park’s cooperating partner, Georgetown Heritage.


Shifts will be 4-5 hours, and we are looking for a commitment of at least 2 shifts per month. The visitor center will be open Wednesdays through Sundays. We are looking for locals, as housing is not provided with this position. Volunteers must be dependable and professional when representing the National Park Service and Georgetown Heritage and we plan to help you achieve this goal! Come work with us at the Georgetown Visitor Center.
