The Cochiti Lake Project is seeking volunteer support from 15 April - 15 October on the east side of the Rio Grande at the Tetilla Peak Recreation Area. Join our team and provide assistance with visitor services, project beautification, facility maintenance, environmental stewardship, and public engagement. Time commitments and scheduling are flexible, but volunteers are required to work 24-29 hours/week in exchange for an RV site, water, electric, sewer, and propane. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and be willing to wear a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers volunteer uniform (shirt, hat, and name tag).


Duties:

  1. Staffing and operating the campground gatehouse
  2. Monitoring campground activity
  3. Providing life jackets for the Life Jacket Loaner Program
  4. Providing visitor services and camping information
  5. Vegetation work-weeding, watering, pruning
  6. Litter control and sanitation
  7. Opening and closing gates for recreation facilities
  8. Campground care and upkeep
  9. Assisting Rangers and Maintenance with special activities (public outreach, non-routine maintenance, etc.)
