Become an active volunteer with Make-A-Wish Illinois! Our volunteers across the entire state are an integral part of delivering hope and resilience to children with critical illnesses.
Our chapter currently has a high need for 250 volunteers to serve as Wish Celebration Volunteers, helping build hope and anticipation for our wish children as they approach their wish fulfillment.
As a Wish Celebration Volunteer, you will:
✨ Create exciting wish countdowns, wish boosts, and special send-offs.
✨ Connect with wish families before and after the child’s wish.
✨ Make a lasting impact with just a 1-6-month commitment (1-3 hours per month)
Experience the magic of a wish with us this Spring, Summer, and beyond!

About Make-A-Wish Illinois
Make-A-Wish Illinois, was founded in 1985 and we serve all 102 counties of Illinois. We have 50 staff members and over 1,000 volunteers who make up our team that has worked to grant over 16,000 wishes.
Wishes impact everyone involved-wish kids, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical professionals and communities. For wish kids, just the act of making their wish come true can give them the courage to comply with their medical treatments. Parents might finally feel like they can be optimistic. And still others might realize all they have to offer the world through volunteer work or philanthropy. This impact is why we are driven to make every one of these wishes come true.
We are more than a great place to volunteer - our work is life changing.
