ORGANIZATION: Andwell Health partners

Andwell will be partnering with Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, to provide patients and caregivers with dementia specific education, support groups (in person and virtual), and 24/7 helpline access.

Many people have been affected by dementia in some capacity; resulting in gained experience, building empathy and compassion for others in similar scenarios. Others, who may not have been directly impacted, may feel a calling to help, especially where there is a growing need. Volunteers are needed to help provide community education on topics related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and/or to facilitate support groups (in person and virtually). Volunteers will be provided relevant dementia training and will need to be able to speak loud and clear and operate a computer/PowerPoint. The monthly time commitment varies with each volunteer’s availability. If you or someone you know have 3 to 4 hours to support this valuable work and are interested in generously volunteering your time with the Alzheimer’s Association

Mission Statement

Andwell Health Partners is an organization about living, dedicated to enhancing quality of life by providing innovative, compassionate health care for all.

Description

Andwell Health Partners volunteer program is widely recognized as one of the most extensive, non-profit home health care volunteer programs in Maine. We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers, many of whom have been personally touched by what we do, assist in a variety of ways.

Over the years, we’ve heard many reasons why our volunteers choose to be involved with our organization. By far the most common answer is that after experiencing our services first hand, they want to give back to our organization.

Whether you want to give back, if it’s your nature to help others, or you’re looking to be involved with a great organization - we’re happy to have you join us in enhancing quality of life for the patients we serve.
