We’re thrilled to announce the 13th Annual 5K Forward: Fast Track to Empowerment, is happening on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at our new location: Hudson River Park, Pier 45! This year’s race is extra special as we celebrate 50 years of Birch Family Services empowering individuals with autism and developmental disabilities to live full lives.

As a volunteer you’ll be part of a vibrant community dedicated to inclusion, empowerment, and opportunity.

Description

Founded in 1975, Birch Family Services is a leading provider of education, employment, and community support services for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities and their families in New York City. Every year, the organization supports more than 2,000 people across 31 locations in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. From preschool to graduation, employment, housing and beyond, Birch Family Services provides fully integrated programs and services to support individuals in achieving their goals across their lifetime.

  • Must be at least 16
  • 4 to 5 hours
  • Volunteer will be placed as route marshals to help ensure participants are following the 5K course.
