Volunteer Needed
Hospice Compassus needs volunteers who are willing to spend one-two hours per week providing companionship and emotional Support to hospice patients.
Our patients live in their homes and in different facilities around Albuquerque. Multiple service locations means flexibility, and we are comitted to offering volunteer jobs that are convenient for you. Although Compassus provides ample training, being a hospice volunter is something that anyone with a caring heart can do. Just a smile and a listening ear can make all the diference in our patients care. People want to know that their lives matter and that their experiances are important to somone. Volunteers do not provide any medical or personal care.
Companionship volunteer's duties might include.
- Playing board games
- Listening to music
- Life reveiw
- Helping a patient make phone calls to family.
- Coloring and Art
- Reading out loud
- sitting quietly and providing supportive presence.
