Endless SHEIN hauls, iced coffee from your favorite cafe, that new water bottle that's trending on TikTok... This is one of the main reasons climate change exists. Humans create too much stuff that is unneccessary for our well-being and only fulfills greed. Overconsumption is an insatiable desire to always be on trend, have the newest "Pinterest" item, buy from shops like Temu. Take control of this desire by applying for this volunteer opportunity today!
HOW-TO:
- Make sure to be a part of Planetary Solutions first! Visit the LinkTree and fill out the MEMBER APPLICATION, and after you're done with these steps fill out the Volunteer Opportunity Form!
- Sort through your closet for unwanted/unworn items. If you're unsure, ask yourself, "have I worn this in the last two months?"
- Collect only clean, functional clothing that can be worn by others. Place them in a box.
- Take your box to the local homeless shelter! Donate these items to the less fortunate, and boom!, you've reduced your carbon footprint AND helped your community!

"Planetary Solutions was founded with one simple goal in mind: to make fighting climate change fun, accessible, and impactful for everyone. Born from a passion to protect the planet, we set out to create a space where people can learn how to make a real difference from home. Since our inception, we’ve grown into a dynamic community of eco-conscious individuals working together to reduce our carbon footprints and promote sustainable living.
Our programs range from easy-to-follow guides on reducing waste and conserving energy to workshops (both in-person and virtual!) that teach hands-on, practical solutions like composting and water conservation. We believe in the power of small actions adding up to big change, and we’ve already made an impact with over 800 signatures on our climate change petition.
Our work is driven by the belief that when we all take small steps together, we can create a major positive shift in the fight against climate change. Join us in making the world a better, greener place - one simple solution at a time!"
