We run a very robust workforce educational internship program for high school and college students, allowing them to get hands-on experience they cannot get anywhere else. We run both a summer session and school-year session and host about 75 students each year! This program changes lives and is very in demand. We are seeking educational grant writers because we keep this program FREE to all students but it costs us a significant portion of our budget to fund this. Grant writers will help us support this vital and important program.

This can be a virtual opportunity, though you are also welcome to volunteer on site at 3198 Main Road, Tiverton, RI 02878. Grant writers will work with the Executive Director.

Mission Statement

West Place Animal Sanctuary rescues farm animals from abuse, neglect, and cruelty and provides them with a permanent home and lifelong care. We rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife in Rhode Island and release healthy animals back into their natural habitats. We also operate the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton. Through our humane education programs, West Place educates the public, offers hands-on educational experiences through our immersive student internships, and cultivates a more compassionate community.
