We are looking for a compassionate and organized Kitten Coordinator to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, well-being, and successful adoption of kittens in our care. The Kitten Coordinator will be responsible for tracking medical records, managing communication with foster homes, scheduling veterinary appointments, and ensuring kittens are ready for adoption fairs. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about animal welfare and looking to make a tangible impact on the lives of kittens and their future families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Tracking & Vaccine Management:
- Monitor and update the medical records of assigned kittens in foster care, ensuring timely vaccinations, deworming, and other necessary treatments in our 13 th St Cat Tracker App
- Ensure all kittens are up-to-date with required medical procedures and make notes of any special needs. This can also be tracked in the 13 th Street Cat Tracker app
- Foster Communication & Check-Ins:
- Regularly check in with fosters to assess the health and well-being of the kittens in their care, offering support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain a clear and compassionate line of communication with fosters, ensuring they have the resources and help necessary for kitten care.
- Scheduling & Appointments:
- Coordinate and schedule appointments with veterinarians for vaccinations, health checks, spay/neuter procedures, and other necessary medical care.
- Manage the transportation of kittens to and from appointments as needed, arranging for foster parents to bring the kittens or organizing transportation.
- Adoption Fair Coordination:
- Contact foster parents and organize/coordinate transportation to and from adoption fairs and events to showcase kittens for potential adopters.
- Ensure all kittens attending events are ready, healthy, and have the required documentation for adoption.
- Weekly Reporting & Updates:
- Present a weekly report to the Cat/Kitten coordination team, providing updates on the status, health, and progress of the kittens in 13 th St Cat care.
- Track and report on the status of kittens from intake to adoption, identifying any challenges or concerns that need attention.
- Additional Support:
- Assist with other tasks related to kitten care and adoption if able to do so.
- Provide guidance on kitten care to new fosters and help resolve issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in animal care, rescue work, or as a foster is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple kittens and tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with fosters, veterinary partners, and other volunteers.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate schedules effectively.
- A compassionate attitude toward animals and a desire to ensure the best outcomes for each kitten in our care.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet the needs of the kittens and their foster homes.

* Promote the welfare of all cats: domestic, stray, and feral. * Practice and provide information on all aspects of Trap-Neuter-Release. * Operate an adoption program that provides a service to the community. * Spay or neuter cats in our care before adoption. * Assist individuals to help rescue, socialize and place cats. * Promote testing for feline diseases such as feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. * Manage cat overpopulation at the source by sterilizing feral cat colonies. * Keep cats out of the sheltering system, thus reducing euthanasia rates. * Provide information and assistance to encourage and help people keep their cats, and to give cats a better life.

13thstcats.org is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no kill rescue; all donations are tax deductible.
We are a community based cat rescue group. We trap- neuter- and release feral cats and find loving forever homes for socialized stray cats and kittens.
