Image_202502221018

We are a smalll non-profit organization supporting citizens, especially children, in Ukraine who are suffering due to the war. We are looking for an individual to help us identify grants that will help us pay for venues, performers (musicians) and speakers, people to lead fundraising events like a "sip and paint night". We have help with writing grants, but we need help identifying what grants might be available to us.

About JAMESTOWN UKRAINE RELIEF PROJECT

Location:

PO BOX 36, JAMESTOWN, RI 02835, US

Mission Statement

Ukraine Relief Project - Aquidneck is dedicated to sustaining public interest in the needs of Ukraine and providing financial support through vetted non-profit organizations providing direct support to Ukrainians suffering the effects of war. We are an affiliate of Jamestown Ukraine Relief Project.

Description

URP-A branched off from Jamestown Ukraine Relief Project in April 2023 to expand the reach of our parent organization onto Aquidneck Island. We currently are focused on supporting the children in Ukraine who have not known a normal childhood for 3 years. We host a variety of events throughout the year, including fundraisers, community outreach events, and educational seminars. We support Common Man for Ukraine, Ukraine Children's Action Project and SunLight Ukraine. Recently we have held a Pysanky Egg Dying Workshop, hosted a presentation by former Ambassador George Krol, screened the documentary Back to Bucha, hosted an information table at Newport Polo All Charities Day, among others. The funds raised from these events have allowed us to:
* send $5,000 to help the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kyiv
* send $1,100 to deliver winter clothes to children in Odessa whose homes were destroyed in a missile attack last fall.
* renovate a building into an art studio for displaced children in Lviv
