Shepherd Parkway Community Clean-Up

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Getting this garbage out of the forest requires haul the help we can get.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with Ward 8 Woods on April 12 by helping clean up Shepherd Parkway! Home of Civil War fort remains, waterways, and wildlife habitat, this sprawling wooded area is unfortunately also a common dumping ground, so every bit of waste removed greatly improves it.

Everyone will get oriented with Ward 8 Woods staff at 555 Newcomb St SE before heading off into the forest. Gloves, bags, and trash grabbers will be provided, but please bring water and dress for navigating rugged, steep terrain.

This event occurs the second Saturday of every month, so there are plenty more chances to clean the Parkway.

Sign up now, and please be sure to also register with Ward 8 Woods to secure your spot and receive additional information!
