An invitation to beautify a 200-year-old landmark? How fort-unate!
Come out to Fort Washington Park on April 12 to help clean up garbage from its shoreline! Everyone will meet a park ranger at the lighthouse parking area at 9:30 AM (coordinates: 38.714004, -77.03336) where gloves, trash grabbers, and bags will be provided. Make sure to bring water and wear sturdy shoes you won't mind getting a bit wet.
This event occurs the second Saturday of every month, so there are plenty more chances to defend the fort's landscape against advancing litter.
