Payette River Host Job Description
1. Assist the Emmett Ranger District in patrolling FS Road 698 (Middle Fork Road) and FS Road 671(Silver Creek Road). Stock and maintain vault toilets at Silver Creek Dispersed area and vault toilet at Peace Valley trailhead. Report access and any witnessed violations to supervisor for further upward reporting.
2. Routine Maintenance for all river recreation sites
ü All vault toilets will need to be checked at least twice weekly & more frequently during special events on the Payette corridor & holidays - stock with toilet paper, remove trash from bathroom and surrounding site, and take immediate action with provided cleaning agents and truck-mounted sprayer if a mess is present.
ü Blow off pathways/parking areas with blower-remove all litter and pine needles.
ü Remove broadleaf, common weeds from walkways at all river sites.
ü Remove rust developing on fee tubes (use provided rust remover).
ü Remove staples from bulletin boards that are not used to mount and hold up signs.
ü Clean around vault toilet lids using supplied rags and cleaning solution & notify supervisor of any damage or required maintenance for vault or toilet area.
ü Ensure signage for fee tubes is affixed & replenish blank fee envelopes to container as required.
3. Beehive Bend Maintenance
ü Clear stairs of weeds on takeout ramp and pathway.
ü Remove weeds growing in drying pads.
ü Remove pine needles under trees (between vault toilets & dressing areas).
ü Weed eat vegetation around rock barriers to ensure barriers are always visible.
ü Notify supervisor of any damage to the parking area, vault toilets, or any facilities.
4. Chief Parrish Maintenance
ü Be extra cautious when entering Chief Parrish ramp and parking area with consideration to flow of traffic and time of day.
ü Weed eat grass in picnic area.
ü Ensure picnic tables are always on concrete pad(s).
ü Remove trash/extinguished coals/etc., from pedestal grills.
ü Remove pine needles from stairs
ü Weed eat around parking area barriers
ü Report any damage to vault and/or toilets to supervisor.
5. Banks Beach Maintenance
ü Clean all picnic tables & grill pedestals with cleaning fluids/water mix, using bucket, and brush/damp rags. Rake debris around tables & under tables and remove trash.
ü Clean off roof of vault toilet.
ü Blow and remove pine needles from parking area & directly in front of toilet area when practical.
6. Banks Access Maintenance
ü Remove grass/weeds growing in parking area and along the side of parking area near fence.
ü Clean stairs at put-in ramp of pine needles.
ü Clear weeds growing in cracks around vault toilet & dressing room areas.
ü Advise supervisor of areas requiring maintenance or repair (dressing room areas needing paint, etc.)
7. Confluence Maintenance
ü Clean picnic table & check if maintenance required and advise supervisor if needed.
ü Remove pine needles around picnic table.
ü Rake/blow needles from boat ramp, remove trash as needed.
ü Weed eat around parking boulders and signs.
ü Prune trees near pathway to vault toilet.
ü Advise supervisor of areas requiring maintenance (paint, repair, etc.)
8. Danskin Maintenance
ü Remove grass/weeds in stairs & staircase.
ü Advise supervisor of areas requiring maintenance (paint, stain, repair, etc.)
