The Assistant Chapter Director will support the DMV Chapter Director in overseeing AFGM’s local mentorship programs, community partnerships, and volunteer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Leadership & Administration: Assist in leading the DMV chapter operations, ensuring smooth execution of mentorship programs.

* Mentor & Mentee Recruitment: Help recruit, onboard, and support volunteer mentors and mentees in the region.

* Community Engagement: Build relationships with schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations to expand AFGM’s reach.

* Event Coordination: Support planning and execution of mentorship meetups, workshops, and fundraising events.

* Fundraising & Sponsorships: Assist in identifying potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities to sustain local programs.

* Program Support: Monitor mentor-mentee progress, collect feedback, and ensure participants receive the support they need.

* Social Media & Outreach: Work with the Communications Team to promote events, highlight success stories, and attract more volunteers.

* Monthly Reporting: Provide regular updates to the DMV Chapter Director on program progress, mentor/mentee engagement, and community partnerships.

A Few Good Mentors, Inc. (AFGM) is a 501c3 community based mentoring program that provides young men with experienced mentors who develop a bond with mentees and offer support, guidance, and opportunities to help establish and accomplish life goals.

Description

AFGM began on October 2019, we beleive every young man can benefit from having a mentor to help navigate through life. Mentors will meet or contact their assigned mentees a minimum of one hour weekly. The goal is for mature men to help younger males develop into mature men. We focus on seven areas of devlopment. Spirituality, leadership, job/career. education, finances, good manners and health. Since we began we have mentored over 30 young men in the DC/VA and MD area as well as the Hampton Roads area ov Virginia.
