Join the Ukandu Loft Team and Support Families Impacted by Childhood Cancer!

Ukandu is dedicated to bringing joy, hope, and connection to children and families impacted by childhood cancer.

In Winter 2026, we're launching The Ukandu Loft, a year-round programming hub just minutes from Doernbecher and Randall Children's Hospitals. This expansion will bring vital support and community to these families. We need passionate volunteers to dedicate at least 4 hours per month to help us create a welcoming and vibrant space.

Opportunities include hospitality, leading engaging workshops, maintaining the facility, and more. Whether you're an individual or a group, your contribution will make a difference.

Mission Statement

Bringing hope, joy and connection to communities impacted by childhood cancer

Description

UKANDU is, first and foremost, a volunteer-driven organization. We're so grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to providing families impacted by childhood and adolescent cancer hope, joy, and connection. 25% of UKANDU volunteers are former participants. 33% of UKANDU volunteers have volunteered for more than 15 years.UKANDU program participants are children and families with unique needs and they are worthy of our very best efforts. Each volunteer is carefully selected for their personal character, high ideals, integrity, responsibility, and special skills which offer our campers the quality of leadership we hope campers will someday emulate. As a result, volunteers will model strength, self-efficacy, and healthy interpersonal relationships. Our programs aim to promote emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual growth.
