ORGANIZATION: MARINE MARKET SYSTEMS

Position Summary

The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, drafting compelling grant proposals, and managing the grant application process from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit grant writing, strong research skills, and the ability to craft persuasive narratives that align with MMS’s mission and programs.

Key ResponsibilitiesGrant Research & Proposal Development:
  • Identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporate donors.

  • Research grant eligibility requirements, application guidelines, and submission deadlines.

  • Develop compelling and well-researched grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications.

  • Work collaboratively with program staff to gather relevant data, success stories, and financial information for proposals.

  • Tailor proposals to align with funder priorities and organizational goals.

Grant Management & Compliance:
  • Track submitted proposals, deadlines, and funding decisions.

  • Ensure timely submission of grant applications and required reports.

  • Maintain organized records of grant applications, awards, and reporting requirements.

  • Assist with post-award grant management, including compliance, budgeting, and donor communications.

Fundraising & Donor Engagement:
  • Support broader fundraising efforts, including donor outreach and sponsorship opportunities.

  • Assist in drafting donor reports and impact updates.

  • Help develop fundraising campaigns and written materials for donor engagement.
