ORGANIZATION: MARINE MARKET SYSTEMS

Position Summary

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit accounting and be familiar with financial reporting requirements, including the preparation of financial statements and budget tracking.

Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Financial Management:
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate record-keeping of all financial transactions.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis.

  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the Chart of Accounts.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Assist in budget tracking and financial forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, including GAAP.

  • Support the CFO in preparing for audits and tax filings.

  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation for grant compliance and reporting.

Payroll & Grant Management:
  • Process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits.

  • Assist with grant tracking and reporting, ensuring funds are properly allocated and spent.

  • Monitor financial transactions related to restricted and unrestricted funds.
