ORGANIZATION: MARINE MARKET SYSTEMS

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Reporting:

  • Establish and organize the Chart of Accounts in compliance with nonprofit financial reporting standards.

  • Prepare and present the organization's financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows for 2024.

  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting and budgeting processes.

  • Ensure accurate financial record-keeping and reporting in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and nonprofit accounting standards.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Accounting & Compliance:

  • Oversee all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and grant disbursements.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax filings and audits.

  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, ensuring a smooth annual audit process.

  • Maintain internal financial controls and risk management procedures.

Strategic Planning & Advisory:

  • Advise the Executive Director and Board of Directors on financial planning and sustainability strategies.

  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the organization’s assets.

  • Support fundraising and grant management efforts by ensuring accurate financial tracking of restricted and unrestricted funds.

  • Enhance financial systems, processes, and policies to improve efficiency and transparency.
