180’s specially trained, confidential advocates work closely with law enforcement and the Forensic Nurse Examiners program to provide emotional support and assistance to victims of sexual violence and their loved ones. This support is offered during sensitive hospital medical examinations and police procedures. Advocates also offer telephone support, information about the justice system, and referrals to services. The identities of the volunteers remain anonymous. Prior knowledge of sexual violence is not required. 180 is committed to fostering culturally and socially diverse teams to better serve the community, and bilingual capabilities are highly valued. Training will be provided free of charge to successful applicants.
