Patients on hospice care live with a serious illness and are often unable to leave their residence to enjoy the invaluable service of having their hair cut or styled.
Barbers and stylists can volunteer to provide their services to hospice patients in their homes or in facilities. This service can help patients feel better about themselves by putting pride back in their appearance, helping to boost their morale. That gift can also positively impact their family members and caregivers.
Volunteers are the heart of hospice. We want nothing more for our patients and caregivers than to bring a smile, to be their friend and to brighten those difficult days.
Bristol Hospiace believes that "every patient matters to the last moment of their life", and we are graciously committed to our mission that all patients and families entrusted to our care will be treated with the highest level of compassion , respect, and quality of care.
We take the safety of our patients very seriously and ensure that all volnteers are properly screened and trained. Our volunteers must complete the required training, backgrund and reference checks, and drug screening before performing any volunteer duties. Bristol Hospice provides ongooing education, related resources, supervision, and support to members of the volunteer team.
