About Renaissance Youth Center

Location:

3485 3rd Ave, Bronx, NY 10456, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower South Bronx youth to fully maximize their potential by offering dynamic, team-building education, music, STEM and civic engagement programs.

Description

For 25 years, Renaissance has invested in the potential of youth through our commitment to:

-Promise a safe place to connect with others and open horizons
-Promote creativity, leadership and innovation in all that we do
-Provide learning opportunities that support a rewarding future

We reach up to 4,000 young people each week citywide and at our South Bronx center, which offers a hands-on learning environment across 3 floors and 15 classrooms. We also emphasize social skill development and achieve this by mentoring youth, interacting with their families, getting involved in their educational goals, and engaging them in positive activities that support teamwork and community-building.

We envision a chance for a better life for all youth, regardless of their socio-economic background or ethnicity. We recognize that all youth are not afforded the same opportunities. With this in mind, all of our programming is aimed at "leveling the playing field," provide experiences to help navigate whatever difficulty are students encounter as they journey towards a rewarding future. We are committed to being positive role models while building positive role models.

This year, we've launched a capital campaign to purchase our building and safeguard Renaissance Youth Center as the home for South Bronx kids to learn, grow and thrive.
