Help provide recreation opportunities and stewardship of natural resources for the American public
The Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District operates 18 lake and river projects with a variety of recreation and natural resource programs. Now accepting applications for current and future volunteer positions in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa . Jobs are big and small, long and short-term, skilled and unskilled, physical and nonphysical. Examples could include :
- Park Operations & Maintenance : visitor services, campground registrations, fee handling, custodians, carpentry, painting, landscape/mowing, tree clearing, trail work, equipment operation, etc.
- Environmental Stewardship : habitat restoration, invasive species removal, wildlife/site monitoring, land/cover surveying, mapping/GIS, tree/other plantings, environmental compliance, water quality monitoring, etc.
- Education & Outreach : prepare/present programs and displays, develop publications, tour guiding, school & other off-site visits, etc.
- Administration : office/clerical, record keeping, customer service, graphic design, GIS, etc.
- Special Events & Service Requirements : public special events, group projects, community service hours, job shadow, etc.
