About CASA of Contra Costa County

Location:

2151 Salvio Street, Suite 295, Concord, CA 94520, US

Mission Statement

The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program recruits, trains, and supports volunteer advocates as a powerful voice for the best interest of abused and neglected children during the court process, in order to help every child ultimately thrive in a stable and permanent home.

Description

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Contra Costa County is an independent, 501(c)(3) community-benefit organization, that operates under the authority of and according to guidelines established by the Judicial Council, as outlined in the California State Welfare and Institutions Code and in the California Rules of Court. We are a member of both the National and California CASA Associations.

Currently, we serve over 15% of the nearly 1,000 children from every city and region of our county, who come through the foster care system every year. These children are typically the neediest and have the most challenging circumstances.

Since 1981, through their service and commitment, volunteers trained by CASA of Contra Costa County have helped to restore hope in the lives of children and youth who have been abused and neglected and are under the court's care. Our volunteers demonstrate time and time again that one person can truly make a difference.
