About GASDI
Great Achievers Social Development Initiative (GASDI) is a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to empowering marginalized communities through education, economic empowerment, and community development. Our mission is to mobilize local and international support to eradicate poverty and promote sustainable development, social justice, and human dignity.
Role Summary
GASDI is seeking a Country Director (Volunteer) to lead and oversee its activities in their respective country. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about community development, advocacy, and leadership in the non-profit sector. The Country Director will be responsible for expanding GASDI’s presence, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, and leading membership programs within their country.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Management:
- Oversee GASDI’s operations, programs, and initiatives in the country.
- Align national activities with GASDI’s global mission, vision, and objectives.
- Represent GASDI at meetings, events, and partnerships.
Program Development & Implementation:
- Supervise the execution of projects within GASDI’s focus areas, including community development, women and youth empowerment, education, and climate resilience.
- Identify opportunities for new initiatives and partnerships that align with GASDI’s mission.
Volunteer Recruitment & Team Management:
Lead the recruitment and management of a structured volunteer team to support GASDI’s activities in the country.
Recruit and oversee volunteers in key roles, including:
1. Country Secretary Volunteers
2. Country Treasurer Volunteer
3. National Coordinator Volunteer (Reports to the Country Director)
4. Regional Coordinators Volunteers (For geopolitical zones, reporting to the National Coordinator)
5. State/Province Coordinators Volunteers (Reporting to the Regional Coordinator). All state chapter leaders report to the State /Province Coordinators
The offices below will be reporting to the country director's office:
6. Community Engagement & Outreach Department Volunteers (Team Lead & Officers)
7. Fundraising Department Volunteers (Team Lead, Research Assistants/Grant Writers, and Resource Mobilization Officers)
8. Finance Team Volunteers
9. Capacity Building & Strategic Planning Team Volunteers
10. Program/Project Management Team Volunteers
11. Virtual Office Assistant / Human Resources and Operations Volunteer
12. Other relevant teams as needed
Membership Growth & Engagement:
- Promote GASDI’s membership programs, recruit new members, and manage membership activities within the country.
- Coordinate local chapters and support members in their engagement and contributions to the organization.
- Ensure compliance with GASDI’s membership structure as outlined in the Membership Handbook.
Fundraising & Resource Mobilization:
- Identify funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to support GASDI’s initiatives.
- Work with the fundraising team to secure sponsorships and donations.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement:
- Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, NGOs, donors, and local partners.
- Advocate for policies that align with GASDI’s goals.
Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure that GASDI’s operations comply with national laws and organizational policies.
- Submit progress reports on activities, challenges, and opportunities in the country.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Proven experience in leadership, project management, or NGO management.
- Strong knowledge of community development, advocacy, or fundraising.
- Ability to engage stakeholders and build partnerships.
- Excellent communication, networking, and organizational skills.
- Passion for humanitarian work and social development.
- Experience with membership-based organizations is an advantage.
Affiliate Program Opportunity for the Country Director & Their Team
The Country Director and any member from their country have the opportunity to take part in GASDI’s Affiliate Program to earn commissions by referring new members and donors who wish to support our humanitarian projects.
Qualifications & Skills Required for Country Director
Education & Experience:
- Master’s or PhD in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in leadership, NGO management, or community development.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to develop and implement programs aligned with organizational goals.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and financial management is an advantage.
- Passion for humanitarian work and social impact.
