The primary responsibility is to assist our staff, and increase our team’s capacity to do their work. Essential tasks include:

  • Running laundry cycles
  • Cleaning empty cages
  • Sweeping lobby areas & hallways
  • Phone-banking for incoming requests from clients
  • Spring / Summer landscaping (outside)
  • Filing and scanning documents
  • Additional as-needed assistance

Shifts are flexible and work with your schedule, however we ask that volunteers maintain a regular week-to-week commitment in order to build dependability. PFA is a medical facility staffed by trained professionals. As such, there will be no animal handling for new clinic volunteers. Volunteers who display commitment and initiative will be rewarded with more trusting responsibilities over time, and may have the opportunity to learn how to provide hands-on care to animals.

About People for Animals, Inc.

Location:

401 HILLSIDE AVE, HILLSIDE, NJ 07205, US

Mission Statement

The mission of People for Animals, Inc. is to prevent animal suffering through affordable essential healthcare, public policy advocacy, and community programs. Our vision is a healthy, happy life for every animal.

Description

People for Animals, Inc. has been providing low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter services in New Jersey since 1983. Over the years, PFA has grown to become the leading provider of spay/neuter services with clinics in Hillside, Robbinsville, and Millville. Our three clinics employ 13 licensed veterinarians who care for over 30,000 of our state’s animal companions every year.

Our key service to the public and animal welfare groups is affordable, routine pet care which is aimed at specifically driving more animals to early spay/neuter procedures to prevent accidental pregnancies, make pet ownership more affordable, and reduce the numbers of homeless animals in local shelters.

We work to ensure that all families have access to affordable pet care through a variety of programs including: Low Cost Spay/Neuter & Wellness Services | Community Outreach | Humane Education | Public Policy Advocacy | Rescue Partnerships | the Sweet Pea Medical Fund | and the Whole Families Program.
