Creshendo is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering displaced populations through psycho-social support, resilience-building, and cultural preservation. Our research agenda is focused on identifying and addressing the unique challenges faced by refugees, ensuring their voices are heard, and fostering inclusive, resilient communities.

As we expand our research department, we are seeking a Research Assistant to support the development of long-form research papers on refugee issues for publication. This role will work closely with our Data Analyst to conduct research, gather sources, and assist in structuring key findings for reports and academic publications.

Role Overview

The Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting the research department by assisting in data collection, literature reviews, stakeholder engagement, and research planning. This position is ideal for someone with a background in research, social sciences, public policy, or a related field who is passionate about refugee issues and wants to contribute to evidence-based solutions.

The role will involve collaborating on Creshendo’s Research Agenda, assisting in writing and structuring long papers, and helping to build a comprehensive research framework that contributes to refugee protection, integration strategies, and advocacy efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Literature Review & Data Collection: Assist in reviewing existing studies on refugee issues, displacement trends, and protection risks.

  • Research Support: Gather qualitative and quantitative data to support long-form publications on refugee challenges and policy recommendations.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal teams, refugee representatives, and academic partners to align research priorities.

  • Survey & Methodology Assistance: Support the development of surveys, interviews, and mixed-method research approaches to collect meaningful insights.

  • Writing & Structuring Reports: Help organize research findings into structured reports, supporting the Data Analystin preparing papers for publication.

  • Project Tracking & Documentation: Maintain records of sources, research priorities, and upcoming publication deadlines.

Qualifications

  • A background in research, social sciences, public policy, migration studies, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills.

  • Experience conducting literature reviews, qualitative or quantitative research, or data collection.

  • Familiarity with academic research methods and data analysis tools (preferred but not required).

  • Passion for human rights, refugee issues, and evidence-based advocacy.

  • Availability to dedicate at least 6-10 hours per week.
