Celebrate National Public Lands Day and be a steward of the Great Burn ecosystem. Cleanup an old trash pile and help naturalize the scar followed by some sauntering and wandering in this hidden gem so close to Missoula.
Trailhead: Petty Creek RNA, Ninemile RD, Lolo NF
Closest Town: Alberton, MT
Difficulty HikingEasy. This project will be done right off the FS road so no hiking is required. Following the cleanup, participants are encouraged to explore around the area.
WorkEasy. This project should only take a couple of hours at the most. Work will involve cleaning up a junk pile and any other garbage we find along the way.
ItineraryMeet at the trailhead at 0930. Cleanup will take place followed by exploration and a nature walk. The day is expected to conclude in early afternoon.
There is no deposit for this event, however we ask you to register so we know how many people to expect and what tools to pack!
