The Education Services Department is seeking a dedicated volunteer to help us support children with visual impairments. By volunteering with us, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of hundreds of students.

Our department is fast-paced and has a variety of tasks that need attention, including inventorying equipment and books, planning and running events, and organizing supplies. This role is ideal for retired teachers or other retirees who are passionate about project management, organization, and supporting both teachers and students.

Description

Established in 1936, The Carroll Center has pioneered many innovative services for the blind and visually impaired. We have developed many methods for people with low vision to learn the skills to be independent in their homes, in class settings, and in their work places. Our services for the blind include vision rehabilitation services, vocational and transition programs, assistive technology training, educational support and recreation opportunities for individuals who are visually impaired of all ages. For over 70 years, The Carroll Center staff has provided help for the blind for thousands of blind and vision impaired persons with diverse opportunities for success and independent living.
