DescriptionAbout InReach: We are InReach, a trans-led tech nonprofit building the world’s first open source verified LGBTQ+ resource platform. InReach is available on web (desktop and mobile), native iOS, and Android. Our vision is to ensure every trans and queer person has on-demand access to the safe resources they need to thrive. Over 420,000 people have used InReach to access verified LGBTQ+ resources.
Expanding awareness of InReach is critical to ensuring more LGBTQ+ people-such as trans folks, people of color, and immigrants-can find the support they need. We’re looking for new Community and Provider Outreach Volunteers to help build relationships with LGBTQ+ centers, libraries, direct service providers and other community organizations across the country and ensure InReach reaches those who need it most.
Outreach CampaignsVolunteers will be asked to select one to two of the following outreach campaign areas to focus on:
- Disability Justice - Engage disability justice organizations to improve and promote InReach as a resource for the LGBTQ+ disability community.
- LGBTQ+ Pride Centers - Connect with LGBTQ+ centers across the country to share InReach’s free verified LGBTQ+ resource platform.
- Public Libraries - Help bring InReach into more public libraries as a resource for LGBTQ+ patrons/staff/volunteers.
- Racial Justice - Identify additional improvements to our free platform that advance racial justice while ensuring QTBIPOC communities know about InReach.
- Refugees Welcome - Expand outreach to agencies and other relevant providers to ensure LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, refugees, and immigrants know about InReach.
- Safe Schools - Help introduce InReach to educators and school staff to support LGBTQ+ students nationwide.
- State Legislation - Raise awareness of InReach as a critical resource for transgender folks and queer families navigating anti-LGBTQ+ state policies.
- #TransMascFutures - Assist in outreach efforts to amplify the #TransMascFutures Campaign and spread trans joy at this pivotal moment for trans justice.
- Research and build a list of relevant service providers and community organizations to contact in their chosen campaign(s).
- Represent InReach in introductory calls and platform demo meetings with service providers and community organizations relevant to their chosen campaign(s).
- Solicit feedback from service providers and other organizations to help InReach continue improving its free verified LGBTQ+ resource platform to address the needs of the selected campaign(s).
- Use relevant personal and/or professional experience and insights from introductory conversations to help inform and refine InReach’s messaging on the campaign topic.
- Passion for LGBTQ+ rights, social justice, and community engagement.
