ORGANIZATION: Amherst H. Wilder Foundation

Community Services for Aging
Wilder's Community Services for Aging operates several community-based programs for older adults and their families.

Through Customized Living, Wilder provides daily support and care for adults living independently in Saint Paul's public housing: Hamline & Ravoux Hi-Rise.

We are seeking a small group of 2-4 volunteers to assist in the design, layout, and planning of organizational spaces to ensure optimal use and functionality. This volunteer group will contribute to the development of space utilization strategies and work closely with the team to identify their spatial needs. Volunteers will share their skills in process optimization, design and space reconfiguration to help us maximize the use of our space in order to achieve program goals at the Hamline Hi-Rise.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Aging Services staff to gather specific requirements and understand spatial needs for the common room.
  • Analyze and assess the available space within the facility to determine how best it can be used.
  • Participate in site visits to ensure alignment with design specifications and user needs.
  • Recommend furniture, fixture, and equipment placements based on space analysis and functional requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Have 2 to 5 years of work or volunteer experience related to quality process improvement or optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills are critical.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to interact with and assist people of varying backgrounds, cultures and identities, including race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, ability or disability, age, gender, gender expression, religion, etc.
  • Complete a background check (Wilder covers the cost).
