Here are a few reasons why hosting an exchange student in a town like yours can be such a special experience:

  1. A True Sense of Community: Your town is full of heart, and hosting an exchange student gives you the chance to share that with someone from another part of the world. The student will become a part of your family and our community, getting involved in local events, traditions, and everyday life, creating memories that last a lifetime.

  2. Personal Connections That Last: In a your town, it’s easier to make meaningful, personal connections when you share your life with others. Your exchange student will experience the real heart of American life, and in return, your family will gain a second "family" from across the globe. It’s a bond that can stay with both of you forever, expanding your horizons and opening up new possibilities.

  3. Experiencing New Cultures in an Intimate Setting: While the world is more connected than ever, there’s something truly special about experiencing a new culture in the cozy, familiar setting of a your town. Your family will be able to share the local customs and traditions you love, while also learning from the unique experiences your exchange student brings to the table. From shopping at Target/Walmart/Costco to the local grocery store, or small town parades...these are all American life events exchange students crave and want to experience!

  4. Making Your Town Even More Welcoming: Your family’s kindness and support can help shape the experience for the exchange student and make your town an even more welcoming place. Whether it’s attending the local fair or showing them the best spots to grab a coffee, the student will get to see the beauty of American life, while teaching the rest of us valuable lessons about their own home.

  5. Growing Together: Hosting an exchange student is an opportunity for growth-for both you and the student. It’ll encourage your family to step outside your comfort zone, embrace new perspectives, and enrich your lives in ways you may not expect. You’ll all learn about a different culture, and you’ll be amazed at how much you gain from the experience. Imagine learning a few words in a new language each time you host!

If this sounds like something your family might be interested in, I would love to talk more with you about it and answer any questions you might have. Hosting a foreign exchange student is truly a one-of-a-kind experience!
