Are you passionate about ending hunger? Do you love meeting and networking with different types of people? Then our Outreach Ambassador team would be a great place for you to volunteer!

This is a fantastic opportunity for charismatic and outgoing individuals to be come an ambassador for Second Harvest of Silicon Valley at a variety of outreach events across Santa Clara county. You will provide vital information to commuities about Second Harvest services; such as our Free Grocery Program and CalFresh application assistance. You will be provided with all the outreach materials needed to attend these events, and you will work closely with Second Harvest staff as part of your training. Join us to build hunger-free communities!

Requirements:

1. Complete 2 training sessions (onsite orientation and virtual training)
2. Attend 3 outreach events within first 3 months of training completion with SHFB outreach staff
3. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the community
4. 18 years or older

Responsibilities:

• Represent Second Harvest at a variety of community events
• Raise awareness about food resources
• Educate and inspire our community about how to get involved with Second Harvest
• Maintain an understanding of the history, mission, and impact of Second Harvest
• Have fun!

Time Commitment:

We have a large variety of outreach events that could work with diverse schedules. We normally have 2-4 hour outreach events Monday through Friday in the mornings and afternoons, with some evenings and Saturday shifts.
