Are you looking for a way to give back and make a difference in someone's life? Bristol Hospice Dallas is seeking volunteers to provide companionship for our hospice patients.
As a hospice companionship volunteer, you will offer emotional support and a comforting presence by visiting patients in their homes, nursing homes, assisted livings/skilled nursing facilities, or group homes. Activities may include:
- Engaging in conversation and reminiscing
- Reading aloud, playing music, or sharing a hobby
- Simply sitting with a patient and offer companionship
No medical experience is needed-just a kind heart and a willingness to be there for someone in their final journey. Flexible scheduling is available. Volunteers receive training and ongoing support. All volunteers must complete inital onboarding that consists of screening, interview, verifications (background checks, TB testing, and references), online training, and orientation prior to beginning any volunteer activities.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old or older to work directly with our hospice patients. If under 18 years old, you must volunteer alongside a parent/guardian who is also a volunteer with Bristol Hospice.
Join us in bringing comfort and companionship for those in need. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mackensie Moore, if you have any further questions at 214-221-9216 or by email at mackensie.moore@bristolhospice.com.

Mission Statement
Bristol Hospice Dallas is graciously committed to our mission that all patients and families entrusted to our care will be treated with the highest level of compassion, respect, and quality of care.
Description
Bristol Hospice Dallas provides hospice services to meet the physical, psycho-social, and spiritual needs of individuals at the end of life. We focus on an individualized plan of care which may include, as appropriate, the following services: nursing, physicians, hospice aides, spiritual support, therapy, dietary, counseling, volunteers, durable medical equipment, supplies, bereavement services and medications related to terminal illness.
Volunteers are an important part of the hospice model. Volunteers provide special compassionate presence and support to our patients and family in ways that only a volunteer can. When a volunteer visits a patient, they are visiting the patient because they want to be there. It's not a job or an obligation. That is a powerful action for our patients and families!
