Do you have a knack for recruiting great people? Special Olympics North Carolina needs your talent! Volunteers are the heart and soul of the incredible opportunities we provide for over 45,000 athletes across the state. From sports competitions to fundraising events and behind-the-scenes operations, our success depends on finding dedicated, passionate volunteers - and that’s where you come in!
What You’ll Do:- Get to know the life-changing mission of Special Olympics NC by attending a training session and experiencing a competition or fundraiser.
- Craft eye-catching volunteer postings on platforms like VolunteerMatch and Share Charlotte.
- Reach out to organizations and companies that can provide groups of volunteers.
- Respond to volunteer needs across the state by writing and publishing engaging recruitment ads for a variety of roles.
- If interested, receive training on phone screening potential volunteers before passing them to SONC staff for placement.
- Completely virtual-volunteer from anywhere in North Carolina!
- Flexible schedule, approximately 4 to 16 hours per week.

Mission Statement
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round athletic training and sports competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families and other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
