Are you looking for a way to help less fortunate children and also visit Guatemala? At Casa De Sion, we are looking for teams to join us at our organization on a one time or on going basis. We are located in Los Robles, Guatemala and have established ourselves in the community for over 15 years. We are looking to revamp our organization and find new teams eager to serve. Our organization has three large buildings on the property, in a gated area with a guard, where we can house up to 40 volunteers. We organize safe and reliable transportation to and from Guatemala City, as well as facilitate a private cook during your stay. We are looking for groups of ALL sizes who are intersted in handing out food during our monthly food drive, building ikea-like bunk beds, installing solar panels, building homes, and volunteering to spend time with our afterschool kids. We are in desperate need of medical and dental teams to provide basic care. While speaking spanish is a major advantage, it is not a requirement to speak Spanish to volunteer with us. If you are intersted, please reach out today!

About SAFE HOMES FOR CHILDREN INCORPORATED
Location:
888 OSPREY POINT RD, BEAUFORT, NC 28516, US
Mission Statement
We're dedicated to improving the lives of Guatemala's least fortunate children with nutritional, educational, and medical initiatives. We believe that all children deserve access to basic needs and have made it our mission to provide that to those in need.
Description
Our organization started in 2003 after our founders, Jody and Vicki, felt inspired to begin nonprofit work and bring basic needs to low income communities with no government assistance. As a result, we have started numerous programs aimed at giving back to local communities. We run a "mama and tots" program that does a monthly drop off of formula to 6 different communities for women who are malnourished and often do not make enough breast milk to nourish their infants. We have partnered with organizations to build and distribute bunk beds. We use our land to grow crops and vegetables, which are given to families in need. Additionally, we provide an after-school program for children where they can receive help with homework and offer activities and games for them to enjoy. We are always looking for medical and dental teams to visit and provide basic medical care and have multiple facilities to house large volunteer groups.
