ORGANIZATION: Domestic Violence Coalition

Would you like to help victims and survivors or domestic violence and sexual assault?

We are seeking volunteers to go out to vicitms of domestic violence, after the perpatrator has been arrested, to provide resources and support.

We also go to Bronson Lakeview hospital to provide support and resources to sexual assault victims.

Training is provided free of charge and you can choose your on-call shifts.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Domestic Violence Coalition is to provide compassionate assistance to the victims of domestic and sexual violence and to work toward eliminating these crimes in our community.

Description

Since 1996, the Domestic Violence Coalition (DVC) has been providing services to residents of Van Buren county who have been affected by the crimes of domestic and sexual violence. We offer the following services free of charge and are completely confidential: 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter referral, crisis intervention, support group, domestic violence education classes, criminal justice support, personal assistance and advocacy, sexual assault emergency services, violence prevention educational sessions, community awareness, court documentation assistance and court accompaniment and advocacy.
