ORGANIZATION: Holistic Riding Equestrian Therapy

We are seeking an educational professional to volunteer in our Farm/Ag program where we serve children with varied abilities. This would be a daytime opportunity, anywhere from 2-4 hours per day, 2-4 days per week. Our 10-acre farm has a classroom, stall barn with horses, ADA-accessible garden, sensory trail and more. This position may also extend to our summer camps and on-site field trips. Having contact with our horses is optional. Curriculum will be provided. Activities will include nature, farm, gardening, crafts, games, etc. Experience is a plus, but not necessary. Creativity regarding crafts and games is welcome. An offer to join our staff at a later date may be extended.

Mission Statement

HRET is passionately committed to empowering the lives of individuals with varied physical, emotional, cognitive, and social abilities through the spirit of the horse. HRET offers a variety of skill appropriate classes meeting the needs of preschoolers on our ponies to independent riders on our program safe horses. We are an equine assisted services (EAS) program that provides horse and pony therapeutic riding and activities. Our classes are approximately an hour long and incorporate grooming and bonding time with horses or ponies, in addition to riding.

Description

HOLISTIC RIDING EQUESTRIAN THERAPY (HRET) PROGRAM is designed to improve the quality of life physically, emotionally, and socially for individuals with varied abilities, as well as veterans. HRET offers a variety of skill appropriate classes meeting the needs of preschoolers on our ponies to independent riders on our horses. We also offer a farm experience program for groups, as well as summer camps, field trips and special events.
