ORGANIZATION: Care Initiatives Hospice Waterloo/Cedar Falls
Please visit the new page to apply.

We are looking for compassionate individuals to play a vital role in the end-of-life care for our hospice patients. Hospice volunteers can make an extraordinary impact on the lives of our hospice patients and the patients' families but volunteers also have found that the patients and their families also make a profound impact in their life as well.
From sitting with the patient, listening to their favorite music together, reading from their favorite books, playing card games, reading scripture, looking through old photo albums or just holding their hand being a presence for them are some of the simple things that can make a difference in the day of our hospice patients.
Our hospice volunteer roles are very flexible! We will provide you with all the training and get you on your way to the most rewarding volunteer role you may ever find!

Description
Care Initiatives Hospice is a service of one of the largest health care networks in the state of Iowa. We are a full service, not-for-profit community- based hospice ready at any time to serve patients and their families wherever they may reside; a personal residence, a nursing facility or a retirement community. Care Initiatives Hospice is committed to providing a high quality of life to patients and their families as life's final months and processes unfold. We provide an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to delivering high quality, coordinated care with compassion, respect and dignity to Iowans and their families living with serious illness and loss.
Volunteers are a vital part of the hospice team and can make a big difference in someone's life. Volunteers can help by listening to memories and stories, holding a hand, reading a story, playing games, baking cookies, visiting someone at home, or helping around the office.
Care Initiatives Hospice began providing care in March 2009 from 6 locations in Iowa: Albia, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Greenfield, Manchester, Sioux City, Waterloo and recently started serving hospice patients in Omaha, Nebraska. Care Initiatives Hospice is a part of the Care Initiatives network of senior care providers located throughout the state.
