The Actors Theatre Workshop (ATW) is a non-profit theater company and educational institution founded in 1990 by award-winning actor, writer and director Thurman E. Scott, whose mentor Stella Adler named ". . . the inheritor of the Stanislavsky legacy and of my legacy." This dynamic theater seeks an experienced Literary Volunteer to assist with ATW’s Play Reading Series and support ATW’s overall mission to develop and present original dramatic material that reveals the issues we are grappling with as a collective community.
The ideal Literary Manager would possess a theater, or English background but all are welcome to apply. Areas of responsibility include reviewing submitted plays, outreach to playwrights, assistance with contracts, and helping to recruit and lead a team of volunteers. The Literary Manager will report directly to ATW’s Artistic Director and Founder, Thurman E. Scott. This individual must be an articulate, enthusiastic communicator who can work well in a creative ensemble.

Founded over two decades ago, the Actors Theatre Workshop is an established pioneer in non-profit theatre that produces classical and contemporary plays, develops new dramatic works, trains and develops actors, directors and writers while making a difference in the lives of at-risk youth and the community at large. Thurman E. Scott, ATW's artistic director, Executive Producer and Founder, is a widely acknowledged expert of artistic project development, an innovator of award-winning arts curriculums and programs for proffessional artistic training, and has a long and successful history of public service to culturaly under-served communities.
