Juneteenth marks one of our country’s independence day celebrations. Although it has long been celebrated in the African American community, this monumental event remains largely unknown to most Americans.

The historical legacy of Juneteenth shows the value of never giving up hope in uncertain times. A space where the community spirit of hope lives on. A space for families to gather, learn together and be educated, and share stories of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Volunteers are needed to help set-up event and activity station materials, register attending participants, set-up food stations and help distribute food, and restore event materials back to its original spaces.

Description

Brilliant Detroit is dedicated to building kid success families and neighborhoods where families with children 0-8 have what they need to be school ready, healthy and stable. We do this by providing proven programming and support year-round out of Brilliant Detroit homes in high-need neighborhoods.
