JOB SUMMARY

Random Acts, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting kindness and compassion around the world, is seeking a talented and experienced SEO Content Writer. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the remote SEO Content Writer coordinates the planning, organization and editorial development to support the ongoing projects and initiatives to create digital copy for SEO (search engine optimized) articles, landing pages, item descriptions, Google Ad campaign descriptions, and more.

This position writes and curates digital content for our various projects and programs and provides digital editorial guidance for all members of staff. Note that significant cross-collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager will be necessary for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Write SEO-driven digital content entries and offer editorial direction for the Random Acts website, incorporating provided keywords needed in content will be provided as available

● Work with both the Marketing Manager and the Digital Marketing Manager to establish digital content for various digital platforms

● Be proactive and creative in researching and proposing new digital content keywords to help extend our brand’s reach

● Review already published digital content in efforts to improve keyword implementation and user experience

● Establish and maintain relationships among the Random Acts staff to ensure two-way communications about priorities

● Review written materials intended for our website or for distribution, and correct errors in content, grammar, punctuation, inclusivity, and global view following the Random Acts style guidelines

● Discuss timeline and subject matter issues with the Messenger Manager to establish priorities or creative approaches

● Work closely with the Writing team to manage and align promotional calendars with editorial production

● Notify the Marketing Manager promptly about any significant issues that pose a risk to the organizations welfare and well-being.

● Participate in scheduled staff and department meetings

● Identify DEI&B (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging) needs in Writing assignments

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

● 1-2 years experience in digital copywriting, with an available portfolio for review including online articles and/or blog posts

● Proficient in online publishing, particularly with WordPress

● Deep understanding of social media platforms and communicating to different audiences in the online medium

● Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including staff, supporters, and the public

● Strong communication skills across verbal, visual, and written mediums, coupled with excellent interpersonal abilities

● Familiarity with SEO and content optimization techniques

● The ability to work independently or collaboratively in teams, with proficiency in managing tasks and projects from start to finish

● Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills

● Flexible work schedule to accommodate projects, evening and weekend meetings

● Able to commit a minimum of 3-4 hours per week to Random Acts activities

● Degree/Certificate or equivalent in journalism, English, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
