Do you want to use your skills to help survivors of abuse and exploitation. We need you!

Operation Safe Escape is conducting research and statistical review in order to validate existing or identify new predictors of intimate partner violence and homicide. The goal is to identify trends, patterns, and other factors that may indicate higher risk; this will allow earlier intervention and ensure proper resources are given for high-risk situations. This helps not only clients of Operation Safe Escape, but will also be shared with shelters, safe houses, social workers, public safety, and more.

The work so far has focused on reviewing existing models, conducting literature review to identify factors not previously considered, and reviewing questionnaire data. We also have access to anecdotal narratives and would like to conduct interviews in the future. This research will have an immediate, measurable impact on the safety of vulnerable individuals.

WHAT THE ROLE LOOKS LIKE

Evaluate statistical data to identify new factors and validate existing models. Identify specific shortcomings or inaccuracies of existing models

Determine weights wherever possible to determine predictive factors based on correlation data

Help evaluate interview and questionnaire results

Identify relevant questions for the final assessment and determine risk thresholds (the one to be used with survivors to determine risk)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Self-motivated individuals eager to share or enhance their expertise in research and data evaluation

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar and structure.

About Operation Safe Escape

Operation Safe Escape (OSE) was created in 2016 as a small component of another security-themed nonprofit organization called OSPA. Over time, the anti-domestic violence mission of OSPA grew to become the organization's sole purpose and we reformed as OSE. Since that time, we've helped nearly 4,000 people escape abusive relationships and other dangerous situations, and helped train and support safe houses and shelters all over the world. We don't discriminate based on any characteristic, whether race, national origin or status, sexual orientation, gender and gender expression, age, or any other class.
