After School tutor
ORGANIZATION: PAX LEARNING CENTER
Please visit the new page to apply.

PAX Learning Center is looking for dedicated and compassionate volunteers to help with our after-school tutoring program, starting April 14th, at David Douglas High School. This program is designed to support youth who are struggling academically and in need of extra help across subjects like math, science, English, and other core classes.
About the Program:Our after-school tutoring sessions offer group-based support where multiple tutors work together to assist students. This allows us to provide a collaborative environment where students can receive the help they need while working alongside their peers. Tutors will assist students in a group setting, helping them with homework, test preparation, and understanding challenging concepts.

Mission Statement
PAX Learning Center was created by a group of dedicated educators and community members who see an increasing need to help those who dropped out of high school and are struggling day to day to survive. We at PAX are dedicated to assisting individuals who have not completed their requirements to attain a high school diploma in the Vancouver Metro area. We seek to provide academic and job skills training to these individuals in order for them to have the opportunity to walk their preferred path, whether it be higher education or a career.
Description
PAX Learning Center is a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization that aims to assist individuals who are in the lower socioeconomic tier and help them get onto their preferred path, whether that be higher education or a career. PAX is a newly established organization and is looking to grow within the Vancouver community. Currently, PAX offers tutoring services to a number of partnerships within the community to help people attain their GED. As we continue to grow, we look to host a number of programs which will include classes for GED preparation as well as career building and internship programs. In tandem with tutoring, we are also looking for volunteers who would be interested in helping the PAX Development team with different projects such as fundraising events, grant writing, marketing, and more. If you are a student looking for an opportunity to hone your craft or have a co-op requirement for a class in either of these categories, please reach out to us! We are happy to have anybody on our team who seeks to help this population, they really need our help.
