We are looking for compassionate people to join our team as Direct Patient Care Volunteers for hospice. A person in this role provides non-medical support to patients living with a terminal illness, as well as their families and caregivers. Volunteers have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through impactful yet simple acts of kindness and connection.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Offering companionship and a listening ear.
- Engaging in social activities such as reading, playing games, or writing letters.
- Providing caregiver relief so family members can rest or run errands.
- Assisting with light household tasks, such as watering plants, walking pets, washing dishes, or emptying trash.
What to Expect:
- Volunteers enjoy the flexibility of creating their own schedules, with visits lasting 1 to 2 hours.
- No medical background is needed-our volunteers do not perform any medical or personal care tasks (e.g., giving baths, assisting with medication, or transferring patients).
