About University Health

Location:

2301 Holmes Street, Kansas City, MO 64108, US

Mission Statement

Mission: University Health is an academic health center providing accessible, state-of-the-art quality healthcare to our community regardless of the ability to pay. Vision: Leading the way to a healthy community. University Health is an academic medical center providing quality healthcare to the Kansas City community and beyond, for those with the very best insurance and those with no insurance at all. University Health doctors, in affiliation with the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC), teach the doctors of the future. They stay ahead of medical advances, providing innovative instruction to students and cutting-edge care to patients. Being an academic medical center, University Health takes the toughest cases, so our healthcare providers can handle whatever you bring us.

Description

With two acute care hospitals (one in the UMKC Health Sciences District just south of Downtown and a second location in Southeast Kansas City near Lee's Summit), Kansas City's largest behavioral health program, University Health, downtown's only freestanding specialist and surgery center, and a Women's and Primary Health location under construction, UH provides care from birth through senior years.

University Health delivers nearly half of all babies born in Kansas City, Missouri, each year. Both of our Birthplace locations-at University Health Truman Medical Center (UH TMC) and University Health Lakewood Medical Center (UH LMC)-have a Children's Mercy connection. In University Health Women's Care The Birthplace at UH TMC, that connection is literal-with high-risk pregnancy experts, moms and babies crossing the Bridge of Hope each day.

University Health also is one of only two American College of Surgeons Verified Level 1 Trauma Centers in Kansas City, Missouri.

From chronic care to cancer care to cardiac care, from overcoming sports injuries to tackling stress and anxiety, we've got this.

University Health has primary care clinics throughout Jackson County. University Health takes healthcare to the community whenever possible, with teams taking health screenings, health information and fresh fruits and vegetables to schools and sites around the city.
