Any pet owner will agree that the presence of a dog will warm the heart and inspire the spirit which is why Hospice Compassus is seeking friendly canines to join our volunteer team. Volunteers, along with their furry friends, will foster meaningful connections with patients in the Houston/Galveston area that could benefit from pet therapy. The ideal volunteer is patient, compassionate, and has a heart for the elderly and dying.
For the protection of our patients all pets MUST be certified through an approved pet therapy certifying organization, such as Pet Partners, Therapy Dogs International, AKC Therapy Dog Program and Alliance of Therapy Dogs. We will walk you through the entire process.

Volunteering with Compassus is a rewarding way to enhance the lives of hospice patients and their families. You’ll find companionship with fellow volunteers and joy in serving others. Hospice volunteers are part of a very special team of people who serve patients receiving end-of-life care and their families, working together to preserve dignity and quality of life.
After completing training, you can determine the time you are able to commit to service. Whether you give two hours a month or six hours a week, all efforts are appreciated and needed. Compassus will work around your schedule.
