Here at the Community Literacy department at Erie House, countless stories have gone by without being heard and we want to change that! We focus on helping migrants learn english as a second langauge, but more importnatly, help them intergrate and grow aucusted to a new foriegn land. We want you to be a part of our social media team amde up entirly of volunteers trying to spread empowerment into our community. We will be working with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Eventbrite. Below will be a bit of our mission statement so you can gain an understanding of what we are trying to achieve: To empower our community- Latinx immigrants alongside individuals and families of all backgrounds through education, access to critical services, and advocacy working together to create a just and inclusive society.

Volunteer Roles for Social Media Management

1. Content & Design Team (3-4 volunteers)
Age: 18+
Responsibilities:

  • Create visually appealing flyers, posters, and social media graphics.
  • Write engaging captions, blog posts, and short-form content.
  • Edit videos for reels, TikToks, and promotional clips.

2. Online Outreach & Engagement Team (3-4 volunteers)
Age: 18+
Responsibilities:

  • Share posts in relevant online communities and forums.
  • Interact with followers, respond to comments, and boost engagement.
  • Reach out to influencers or organizations for collaborations.

3. Offline Outreach & Promotion Team (5-6 volunteers)
Age: 21+
Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to schools and libraries for collaborations.
  • Connect with local businesses and community organizations for partnerships.
  • Promote events through word-of-mouth and networking.

4. Offline Distribution Team (7-8 volunteers)
Age: 21+
Responsibilities:

  • Post flyers in high-traffic locations (popular areas, cafés, community centers, etc.).
  • Ensure proper placement of promotional materials to maximize visibility.
  • Regularly check and replace flyers as needed.
